On 20th August 1944, Rajiv Gandhi was born in Bombay (Mumbai). When India became independent on 15th August 1947 and his grandfather, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India, he was just three years. Rajiv Gandhi was the eldest son of Feroze Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. During this period, his parents moved to New Delhi which is India's Capital from Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh. His father, Feroze Gandhi who became a Member of Parliament and earned name and fame as hardworking and fearless parliamentarian."
