Lolita

Haunted by the death of a childhood sweetheart, Humbert Humbert has a softspot for young girls. When he meets Dolores Haze, a twelve year old nymphet as he calls her, he begins to feel a strong sexual pull towards her. The novel explores Humbert's obsessive and perhaps doomed feelings for the young girl, feelings which he begins to explore further when he becomes her step-father.
